Overview

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Management with an emphasis in Human Resource Management will give students the opportunity to explore the fast paced and ever-changing environment of human resource management. Every successful business and industry require capable employees that can navigate all areas of recruitment, onboarding, development, employee relations and the legal environment of employment.

Students will graduate honed with the skills to manage change and to execute solutions for the ever-changing job market.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of HR principles, including recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, change management, and labor relations. 

2. Apply knowledge of employment laws and ethical standards to ensure organizational compliance and promote a fair workplace

3. Exhibit strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage employee relations and resolve conflicts

4. Leverage HR technology and information systems to improve HR processes and decision-making

5. Apply organizational behavior theories in a global context, considering cultural differences and international business practices. 

6.    Assess key issues in current events and emerging trends in HR to adapt practices and strategies accordingly.

7.    Prepare to take professional HR certification exams (aPHR, SHRM-CP)
