Certificate (Federal aid eligible if certificate is combined with Associate of Science degree, Associate of Applied Science degree, or Bachelor of Applied Science degree.  Not eligible for federal aid as a stand-alone certificate.)

This is an advanced certificate. Prior to working on this certificate, you must complete the Technical Support Engineer Certificate.

Overview

Students with a Systems Administration emphasis are prepared to work in any corporate IT department. While specializing in the broader area of systems administration and cloud infrastructure, students will build strong IT foundational skills and knowledge.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers
  2. Effectively administer cloud environments 
  3. Synthesize technical research to foster innovation

Career Opportunities

Career opportunities for a student with a certificate in Systems Administration exist as internships in most IT departments. Typical internships may include various roles in IT Administration.

1. Minimum of 15 total semester credit hours as outlined
2. Grade of C- or higher in all IT core courses
3. Cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher
