Certificate (Federal aid eligible if certificate is combined with Associate of Science degree, Associate of Applied Science degree, or Bachelor of Applied Science degree. Not eligible for federal aid as a stand-alone certificate.)

Overview

The UI (User Interface) Certificate helps a student without experience to gain the knowledge needed to succeed in User Interface Design experience in both areasOnce a student has completed the UI Certificate, they can do UIdesignin a corporate or small startup environment.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the certificate, successful graduates will be able to:

Address problems in a business setting using a variety of design tools and techniques

Apply principles of layout, color, and typography to a user interface design

Prototypewith wireframes and mockups, creating solid designs by eliciting userfeedback

4. 
Assemble functional and appealing user interfaces using established design systems

Create designs for a complex organization, a small startup, or a medium-sized business

Course Requirements

Students are responsible for examining the course description of each course listed below for details of prerequisites, which must be satisfied before registering for the course.

Graduation Requirements

1. Minimum of 15 total semester credit hours as outlined
2. Grade of C- or higher in all UI, COMM, and DCC certificate courses
3. Certificate GPA of 2.0 or higher in all certificate courses

Recommended Sequence

Individual student circumstances, such as the need for a smaller course load or the number of preparatory English or Math courses a student must take, may require additional semesters to complete the program. Please see your Student Success Advisor for assistance.
