International Students

It is extremely important for each F-1 student to maintain his or her status while in the United States. Failure to maintain the terms and conditions of nonimmigrant status is a ground for removal from the United States (deportation).

Maintenance of status is principally the responsibility of the student him or herself. We urge all F-1 students to read and understand “Instructions to Students” on page three of the Form I-20. Talk with your DSO if you have any questions regarding the legal requirements of your stay in the United States.
